Make you own movie at SZIGET festival
Sziget, considered Europe's best festival is celebrating it's 20th anniversary and has teamed up with the Budapest Film Academy.
Do you have plenty of ideas for a great short film hiding in the back of your notebook? Do you want to participate in one of the biggest festivals in Europe?
If so, do not hesitate; apply for the three-week intensive summer seminar at the Budapest Film Academy! At this unique seminar/camp, you will gain theoretical and practical film knowledge from industry leaders, take part in an interactive filmmaker group, and shoot your own exciting short film at the SZIGET Festival. At the end of the summer workshop we will create a full-length feature from the best short films.
The main goal of the intensive three-week workshop is to lead the students from the birth of an idea to the creation of a short film through production and post-production – or in other words, to acquaint them with the entire filmmaking process. We will train filmmakers who have the necessary knowledge in both theory and practice, and who are adept in all of the key artistic and technical positions of a film crew.
Of course you can apply year round for the Film school, not just the summer film camp. We love Budapest and can;t think of a better union between festivals and filmmaking.
Budapest Film Academy (BFA) and Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) have joined forces and launched an English and Hungarian language film academy offering practical film studies to students who would like to become industry professionals.
The academy‟s faculty is made up of highly qualified academic scholars and leading figures and award winners from across the film industry, who lend not only their knowledge, but their networking to students. The most gifted students soar under the mentorship of these experienced foreign and local professionals. The Academy also facilitates semester-long exchange programs with institutions abroad. Please note that our courses are also available to young filmmakers who are not currently attending an institution of higher education.
